If you are interested in
acquiring a breeding-quality ram,
please contact us as to current availability.
Here at Woolfarm.com, we never "pre-sell" (meaning take a deposit for an
animal
that is not yet born) any of our lambs. Since it is impossible for anyone to
know exactly what quality a potential breeding will create, we feel it's only
fair to wait until animals are born and priced, before accepting a binding
deposit from a customer. This assures our customers that they will never
be getting less quality than they anticipated or they can actually "see" for
themselves!!
We don't publish a "ram lambs for sale" list on our web site. Each lambing
season, we select from our ram lambs only the very "BEST" to be sold as
"breeding- quality rams". From the time they are born, and continue to
mature here on our farm, we evaluate them constantly.
Breeding-quality rams will remain here virtually forever, until they are either
1) sold or 2) used here in our breeding program. Depending on
availability, we sell ram lambs, adult unproven rams, and occasionally "proven"
rams.
ANY ram sold as "breeding-quality" is guaranteed to produce viable offspring.
Any ram lamb who does not meet our strict quality standards can be purchased
as a "wether" (castrated male) and purchased as a "wool producing animal" or
perhaps as a "buddy" for an intact ram. Wethers produce absolutely BEAUTIFUL
fiber----mainly because that's their sole duty in life :-).
At Woolfarm.com we feel the
choice of a ram is VERY important. After all, he is one-half of the
genetic makeup of ALL the lambs he produces.....meaning, that if someone is
using only one ram in their flock, that ram is responsible for ONE HALF of that
flock's genetics!! Keeping that in mind, obviously it's EXTREMELY
important to choose a ram wisely and select specifically for the criteria that
is most important to YOUR personal breeding goals (whatever that might be).
So....if you are interested in possibly obtaining a breeding-quality ram, please contact
us with your personal preferences regarding:
color/pattern/horns/spotting/etc. As our ram lamb crop
matures each year, we can let you know what ram/s would fit your breeding criteria
best.
