Woolfarm's Icelandic Sheepdogs

At Woolfarm.com, we not only offer one of the nation's largest selection of
Icelandic sheep, but we also now raise Icelandic sheepdogs. During a trip to
Iceland in November 2003, we hand-selected two Icelandic sheepdogs (male-"Mundi",
& female-Halla) and brought them back to the U.S. with us. Having a background
in kennel life, raising quality specimens of the Icelandic sheepdog breed is simply an
extension of my life-long, dog-breeding experience, and therefore a "natural" for me!

Love & admiration of raising dogs has always been an integral part of my life.
"Mother" established a poodle kennel and grooming business when I was very young.
During the following several years I became her constant, best (and only!) helper.
We raised, nurtured, groomed, trained, and showed dogs throughout the Midwest and Florida
during my youth and teen years. We enjoyed a trip to Madison Square Gardens in
New York City when I was very young, to attend the Westminster Dog Show to watch one
of our dogs compete. Tragically, our poodle kennel was completely destroyed by fire
late one icey, November night in 1970, destroying all (40+) of our dogs. Since our
kennel building was attached to our home, we were fortunate to have escaped unharmed,
but suffered intense grief over the loss of our many beautiful, beloved dog-friends.

As shown below, I enjoyed one of our first litters of poodle puppies in 1958!!

Halla had 8 beautiful, healthy puppies!!
We are delighted that this litter produced several BLACK puppies!

We are pleased to announce that both parents of this litter (Halla & Mundi)
passed their CERF eye exams as clear of heredible eye diseases.
We will be scheduling OFA hip exams after they are 2 years of age,
at which time they can be officially "certified".
